What your match score really means

Every role in Next Job Roles carries a match score. It is a fast way to answer one question: of all the jobs in front of you, where is your time best spent?

How it is computed

We compare the skills, seniority, and domain signals in your profile and resume against the requirements we extract from the job. Coverage of the must-have skills weighs most heavily; nice-to-haves nudge the number.

How to use it

• 80%+: strong fit — apply, and tailor your resume to close any small gaps.
• 60–80%: worth a shot if the role excites you; lean on tailoring and a cover letter.
• Below 60%: usually a stretch — apply selectively and be clear about transferable skills.

A lower score is not a verdict. It is a hint about how much tailoring and framing a given application will take.
